We start with the cloth.
Selvedge began with one pair of jeans: 13.5 oz denim woven on a shuttle loom in Okayama, cut in our own studio, finished with a corozo shank button. We made it because we could not find a pair that would still look good after five years of wear.
Today we make women's and men's clothing, knitwear, outerwear, shoes and accessories on the same rule: buy the best cloth we can afford from a mill we have visited, cut it simply, and put the weight, the fibre and the fit on the label.
Six mills
Denim from Okayama, merino from Biella, recycled wool and cashmere from Prato, slub jersey from Denizli, linen from Porto and waxed cotton from Lancashire. Every product page names the cloth it is cut from.
Made to last
Hemming and repairs are free on every pair of jeans, for as long as you own them. Buy fewer things, wear them more.
