What we do

Choose your inseam at checkout. We measure, fold, and hem on a single-needle chain stitch machine that matches the original, then press. The original hem allowance is kept: if you grow or change your mind, we can let it out again.

What it costs

Nothing. Hemming is free on every pair of jeans, and so is a second hem later if the first was wrong.

How long it takes

Two extra working days before the pair is dispatched. If you are in London, bring them to the studio and wait: it takes about twenty minutes.

The roping

A chain-stitch hem on heavy denim gives a ridge, called roping, as the hem wears and fades. It is the reason we hem on the original machine and not a modern one.
